Candle Care
On the first burn allow the wax to melt to the side of the jar. This should take 2 to 4 hours. Failure to do this will often cause tunneling which can limit the life of your candle. If tunneling does occur, set your oven to 170°F and place the candle in for about 6-7 minutes to allow the wax to level out. (Caution-Jar will be hot so handle accordingly)
Be sure to trim your wick to about 1/4" before each burn. To extend the life of your candle, extinguish the flame after 4 hours and trim the wick. This will remove mushrooming on the wick and minimize soot.
Extinguish your candle by dipping the wick into the melted wax or placing the lid on the candle. This will stop the wick from smoking and will help with re-lighting.
